Starting to fray? Throw it away!
You should change your toothbrush every 2-3 months or once it starts to fray. This is because once the bristles begin to fray, it loses it's effectiveness to clean in between and around the teeth properly. This then leaves you with an unclean feeling, leaving unwanted bacteria around the mouth which increases the risk of developing cavities and gum disease.
It is also recommended to change your toothbrush after being sick with a cold/flu as sometimes bacteria can hide in the bristles leading to reinfection.
Don't forget to use soft bristles or an electric toothbrush to take extra care of your teeth and gums!
