"In accordance to government’s and health experts’ suggestions, we have decided to shut down our surgery from Monday, 13th July, 2020 temporarily in order to keep our staff and patients safe as well as to slow down the spread of Covid-19.
Although the government may continue to consider dental services as essential as long as they are provided safely, the Australian Dental Association’s advice is that dental practices should immediately restrict dental treatment to non-aerosol generating procedures. This means no use of high speed drills, ultrasonic scalers and no intra oral x-rays which can cause a patient to gag or cough. This means we cannot provide the level of service and care we would like to our patients. We have also considered the limited supply of facemasks and personal protective equipment and the challenging situation it puts all of us in.
At our practice, your safety is our top priority and as health care professionals, ultimately it is up to us to make decisions about our patients and our practice. It is not an easy decision, but all our staff members and almost all our patients are very supportive with the decision. We are considering to reopen on Monday, 14th September or earlier when it is safe for everyone to attend our clinic.
For our lovely patients, please call or email us should you have any dental concerns during this period. Please include your name, date of birth, contact number and concerns in the email. Our dentists and front office are still available during weekdays to support you as much as we can during these unprecedented times.
Thank you for your understanding and support! "
