Here at Sparkle Dental Care, our level of infection control has always been of the highest standard we can give. However, with COVID-19 on the rise, there are some extra precautions that we have made to our clinic, and have been performing since March 2020.
During the COVID-19 rise, we have been:
- Screening patients.
This includes calling patients a day or two before their appointments and confirming that they do not have any flu like symptoms. If they do in the slightest, we advise that their appointment will need to be rescheduled.
- Taking temperature on arrival
This includes patients and staff, and anyone with a fever will be sent home.
- Hand sanitiser given on arrival
To reduce the bacterial load on hands being spread around the clinic.
- Extra PPE worn
Dentists and nurses are now gowned up, and wearing double masks.
- Physical Distancing
We are keeping social distancing to 1.5m apart, this includes no handshakes and no close contact between our staff, or our patients. We also try to keep 10-20 minute gaps between our patients to ensure that patients do not need to be in contact with each other where it is not necessary.
- Hand sanitiser after treatment
This is used to limit the bacteria being passed to the reception area where patients tend to touch most things.
- Wiping all surfaces
After each use, surfaces are wiped with 70% alcohol. This includes, door handles, chairs, eftpos machines, and bathrooms.
We hope, with performing these extra precautions, we are doing our part to help stop the spread in the community, and keep our patients and staff as safe as possible.
Do not worry, we are doing all we can to protect every individual.
