Thinking about braces? Why not try Invisalign?
Invisalign is a clear-aligner treatment which is used as an alternative to braces. It is becoming a lot more popular as it helps patients to reach their goal whilst not being self conscious about their appearance with braces.
Treatment begins with taking x-rays, photographs, bite registration and impressions. This is then followed by the dentist completing an evaluation which includes the patient’s diagnosis and treatment plan. The technicians plan the teeth to the desired location in the mouth with a special program. The amount of aligners needed may vary depending on diagnosis. Each aligner moves teeth .25 to .33 millimeters
Each aligner is to be worn for minimum 22 hours a day, although is removed for eating, brushing and flossing daily. On average, the process takes 14 months, however it can vary depending on the complexity of the planned movements.
Once the treatment is completed, the patient is advised to continue wearing a retainer at night to avoid movements of the teeth in future.
